Welcome to the part of the blog where I go, in depth (or not), about things nearest and dearest to me - myself. My name is Jules. I am very much a transplant Californian; I was born on a cold January day on the main island of Japan to a US Navy sailor and his Japanese wife. Over 20 years later, I sit in the Southern California apartment I share with my husband DH, our cats Mocha and Kona, and our many dreams.

I’m a nursing student with passion for pediatric, neonatal, and obstetrics. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, tinkering with my Mac, cooking, reading, and playing with my kittens. In all honesty, I’m the blondest brunette you’ll ever meet, but I try to make up for it by  showing you how smart I am when I’m not being silly… and while I’m at it, my favorite color is pink, and it’s even better if it’s got Hello Kitty on it. In fact, I’m a bit obsessed with pink. I love taking pictures of things going on in my life, but I think many can sympathize with me when I say I usually forget.

I’ve been blogging, off and on, since I was 14 years old. I’ve been anywhere from Angelfire, Yahoo!Geocities, Envy & Virtue.nu, hosted a handful of times, on Livejournal/Deadjournal/onethatslipsmymind/Xanga/Vox, and on my own domains. Julesincolor is my second domain. Most of my immediate family members know that I blog, and think it’s the weirdest thing in the world to do. But I’ve been doing it for 9 years now, so you can see that in spite of myself, I can’t stop. I am far from the blogger I used to be, but luckily, Wordpress and the plethora of themes to tweak help. A lot.
