• profileWelcome to JulesInColor.com, the personal blog of a girl named Jules - that's me! I'm a 23 year old wife and full time nursing student living in Southern California.

I'm an avid coffee drinker, Apple user, pink enthusiast, music lover, and tech nut. I've been blogging for many years now, but as of late you can keep up with me more frequently on Twitter or Plurk. For the rest of the story, read on!

Oh hai!

WOW, how fast time can go by without updating when one lacks little to no time to think about time actually going by!

Did you get all that?

I actually updated once several weeks ago, but since changed the privacy of it due to feeling like a complete tool after I reread it. Yeah. Just a bunch of feeling-sorry-for-myself and being fickle. ANYWAY.

I am a Californian by birth - my dad grew up in Los Angeles, and we’ve lived here for 16 years now (and since we know I’m 23, and I can do math - 7 of those years were spent in Japan kthx). So can you believe that in all that time, I never once stepped foot in Mexico? I KNOW! Well, the spell finally broke and I can officially say that I’ve been there, done that. We went to Mexico, near Rosarito, for the beautiful wedding of a beautiful couple and it was. Amazing. Amazing food, fun Mexican music, TONS of dancing (not by me, of course…), OPEN BAR, and partying until 2 in da mornin. But the funnest part was the trip back across the border - 1 hour traffic and being greeted by vendors in the middle of the road. LOL. It was really horrifying, I just kept thinking about some little kid getting hit by a huge SUV while juggling for money.

We’re trying to plan another trip, this time to Cancun, but things are on hold for now considering the week break I thought we were getting in between this class and the next is not happening. So, I think DH is planning a trip to Anaheim for Blizzcon in October. At $100 a ticket and probably the need to stay over night/eat/stuff, we’re looking at easily a $1000 trip to a place an hour or two away. SO, yeah. But I’m STOKED, even though the possibility of me playing WoW or any other video game is nonexistant at this point. I missed Comic-Con at the convention center this year AGAIN, and I’m even more annoyed at the fact that there was absolutely no way I could go to the one day I wanted to (Thursday, for the Twilight movie panel/autographs) because of school. Only, there may be less screaming 12 y/o fangirls at Blizzcon (screaming 30 y/o otaku will still be there, however). Or, one can hope.

BTW, the lovely Teresa is giving away a cupcake scented gift set by Embrace Bath & Body, over at her personal blog. The contest is for USA and Canada only. GO GO GO! The contest ends tomorrow!

Until next time!

Friday Fill-Ins!

#79

1. Holidays in the summer are alright. I mean, honestly? I dislike summer anyway, and summer holidays usually requires you to hang out outdoors. Which I also dislike, especially during the summer.

2. Shrimp is my favorite thing to grill.

3. My thoughts are all over the place right now.

4. Working (GASP!) is what I’m most looking forward to this weekend!

5. My favorite book so far this summer is TWILIGHT!

6. Hitting the snooze, followed closely by a cup of coffee as big as my face is the best way to begin a day.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to start studying for my next class (no joke; freakish huh?), tomorrow my plans include working a 12 and Sunday, I want to possibly go shopping.

(Ugh, all the exclamation points were getting annoying…) Please stay tuned for your regularly scheduled blog (scroll down!), kthx.

GASP!

New theme! Is it not the cutest ever??! Holy crap, Teresa fails to let me down - time and time again, she comes out with phenomenal themes, but I think this is by FAR her best.

I’ve spent the last hour or so tweaking it, I have to hurry my bum up and go to clinicals! May write more later… but don’t count on much! <3

Ok so, picking up from where I left off. I did my very first official intravenous catheter placement today! Can I just say how exciting this is for me, considering what an epic fail my practice IV on my classmate was 4 weeks ago? I haven’t done one since, until today, so I see it as a huge accomplishment. One small step, baby!

I’m so very excited that tomorrow is our very last clinical day for this class, and Saturday is our final. I’m so over this class, it’s to the point where I just refuse to care. I just spent almost 2 hours talking to a friend on AIM instead of proof-reading my paper to submit to my professor. I will miss my clinical instructor, though. As “unconventional” and a little too hard-ass at time as he was, I still enjoyed his weird teaching style of making us feel like incompetent little shits before telling us “good work”. Heh.

Ugh, speaking of AIM… tonight’s convo made me feel like the biggest ass of a friend ever. So if you’re reading this, I’m sorry if I pissed you off, but I wanted you to know how I felt.

Hoping my friend who just moved back from Hawaii will be able to come down to visit me for a few days next week. I’m going to have the entire week off, so I’m kind of at a loss for what to do with myself. If she comes down, we can hang out for the first time in over a year and just do whatever stupid shit comes to mind. Yup.

Da end.
