Got crabs? What about cute felt objects?

We're ready!

Back in June, DH and I found a great restaraunt about 10 minutes from our house that served sea food by the pound that’s eaten with no utensils. DH thought I wouldn’t be up to eating at a place like that, but he was wrong :) We went with friends yesterday for lunch, and it was as equally amazing as the first time.

If you ever have the opportunity to eat at a similar restaraunt, please do! While I HATE getting dirty, I didn’t mind it too much at this place. Just be prepared to have fingers that reek like sea food and spice for the rest of the day. We chowed down on fried okra, calamari and fries, shrimp, and crab!

I got a package from my lovely friend Barbs today! She’s such a sweetie… she makes the cutest felt stuff, and sent some my way!

Ok, that’s all!

Hello world!

Huh?World, meet Mocha! This is the bitty kitten I was talking about on Saturday. She’s the newest edition to our small family unit! If you recall, we called a Japanese woman about her but found out that someone else was going to see her Sunday morning. Well, it turns out that they didn’t take her! So the woman got in touch with my mom to see when I could see her, and since I live right down the street from where she was, we met up and I ended up taking her home with me!

Food! She’s been SUCH a good girl, she is house trained and took to the food I bought her right away. I was worried by the fact that she didn’t drink any water all day, but on Sunday night, after I had gone to bed, she got up to get a drink and has been doing so ever since. Tuckered out. She’s also such a cuddle bug! The first night, it was just her and I, and she is able to jump on the bed by herself, despite her small size. She roamed for a while, doing what hyper 2 month old kittens do, and finally came on the bed and slept on my pillow. She didn’t let me get much sleep though - but I think it’s because I’m not used to having her, as small as she is, so close to my head (so that I might squash her in my sleep). DH came home yesterday afternoon, and instantly fell in love with her (even though he was a bit sad that he couldn’t have been there when I got her, and for her first day at the house). They played, she ventured out of our room a little bit more, and by the end of the night, she was tuckered out in her usual spot in the closet, sheltered by the hanging clothes. We crawled into bed, and in the dark I heard a little thump and felt a consequent landing of little paws on our bed. She came to us to sleep! I was so excited. This time, she slept all through the night without getting up, until DH’s alarm went off for work.

UberKitten! This morning, she found a spot she likes on my mouse pad. She also napped on my lap for a while. I’m so surprised at her progress, and she’s only on her third day being in her new home. With kitties in the past, they’ve been so skittish and hid under the bed for days. While she does seem to cry out sometimes, especially when she’s alone, Mocha has been such a good girl. She’s a playful little one, too! She has mommy and daddy so, so in love with her! She knows it, too.

Hear ye hear ye!

First of all, Happy Halloween! Though I haven’t done anything for it in years (besides pass out candy), it’s still an extremely fun holiday. We bought some candy this year, so hopefully we get some kids at our door… *cackle*

So as I sit here, sipping my too-sweet morning coffee, trying to wake up from a few hours of sleep (hubby woke me up as he got ready for work), I decided “Hey, I’m going to get my blog going this morning.” With good timing, because if I had saved it for later, it would have drove me crazy!

SO! Here it is - a premade theme, albeit temporary. This place is by no means open, but if you happen to find yourself here, WELCOME! Until then, please visit my vox for frequent blogs.
